Audi 1.8 TFSI Coupe added to Audi 2012 Model Year range

Audi have expanded their desirable TT Coupe range with the addition of the impressive 1.8 TFSI Coupe to the 2012 collection. The emergence of this new vehicle provides drivers with another option to enjoy the performance of the TT Coupe range for extremely competitive prices.

Audi TT Coupe

Sport or S Line Specification
The 1.8 TFSI Coupe is available with Sport or S line specification. The Sport boasts a six speed manual transmission while the S Line offers a seven speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission. Both models use the 1.8 four cylinder engine used in Audi's TT Roadster.

The six speed manual transmission enables of the 1.8-litre four-cylinder turbo charged petrol engine to deliver 160PS at 4,500rpm with a torque peak of 250Nm from 1,500rpm up to 4,500rpm. This allows the front-wheel-driven Sport Coupe 1.8 TFSI to go from 0 to 62mph in just 7.2 seconds. It boasts a top speed of 140mph.

The S tronic 1.8 TFSI Coupe with its twin-clutch transmission achieves 0 to 62mph in 7.1 seconds and also maxs out at 140mph.

Fuel Economy and road holding
The 1.8 TFSI Coupe uses a fuel rationing FSI direct petrol injection and energy recuperation system which allows both the S line and Sport models to post impressive combined economy figures of 44.1mpg when undergoing the combined cycle test.

One feature that no doubt factors into this fuel economy is the 1.8 TFSI Coupe's lightweight TT Hybrid body shell. The weight distribution of the aluminium and steel shell is well judged and combined with a McPherson strut front and four-link trailing arm rear suspension offers considerable road holding and provides a lively and responsive feel to the 1.8 TFSI Coupe.

Driving comfort is further increased through the use of Audi's magnetic ride shock absorber system which features adjustable dampers filled with magnetorheological fluid. This system improves cornering and ensures a smooth ride on less than perfect road surfaces. The addition of a ‘Sport button’ enables throttle and stearing ajustments to suit differing conditions or driver preferences.

New and Existing TT Range Features Carried Forward
1.8 TFSI Coupe S line models offer an appertising selection of new features from LED daytime running lamps, xenon headlights, short-shift gearbox for manual versions, S line interior and exterior detailing, lowered S line sports suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels.

A Bluetooth phone interface with upgraded Symphony audio system linked to BOSE premium sound system, dark tinted rear windows, rear parking sensors and 19-inch alloy wheels are available for Black Edition specification.

Much of the features sported by the TT range are continued in the 1.8 TFSI Coupe, such as the Concert audio system CD player supporting MP3/iPod compatabilty, Alcantara and leather upholstery and an electronic climate control system.

Attractive Pricing
The 1.8 TFSI Coupe is available from as little as £24,070 OTR. Considering the performance, fuel economy and overall package offered by Audi's latest addition to the TT range, we feel confident the 1.8 TFSI Coupe will prove to be a great buy.
