Latest diesel Audi A1 now has lower CO2 emissions

The latest diesel 1.6 litre (TDI) version of Audi's multi award-winning A1 has reduced CO2 emissions and improved fuel economy. Emissions are down from 105g/km to 99g/km, with a combined cycle figure of 74.3mpg being reported (up from 70.6mpg).
These improvements have been made possible by further work on the fuel system and engine; Audi's existing start-stop and energy recuperation systems have been refined further.
No sacrifices have been made on other aspects of the A1's performance; the five-speed manual transmission 1.6 TDI will still do 0-60mph in 10 seconds and is capabale of 118mph.
The reduced CO2 emissions mean that the new A1 is now exempt from London's congestion charge (which kicks in above 100g/km) and also from road tax after one year of ownership - in fact the majority of A1 variants are exempt from the start.
The new model is still available in the UK in all of the current trim levels (SE, Sport, and S line).
Theis new A1 variant becomes the second Audi to achieve under 100g/km CO2 emissions, joining the three-door 1.6 litre diesel A3 which is capable of exactly the same fuel economy. The two cars join only 22 other non-electric vehicles in the UK with under 100g/km CO2 emissions.
