New Audi A6 available with all LED headlights

The new Audi A6 is following in the footsteps of its stablemates the R8, A7 Sportback and A8, with LED headlights now available as an option.
LED headlights give a strong white light that is more like daylight than halogen or bi-xenon lights yet still uses only 40W of electricity (if you've used a 40W bulb in your home you'll realise how much more efficient LED lights are).
Efficient design of the headlight units not only saves energy but also means less maintenance.
The control unit can, when integrated with Audi's MMI navigation system, anticipate changing light levels - for instance there is a setting to aid cornering or arriving at a junction.
A traditional problem in night driving has been the danger of dazzling other users, with the different light levels and demands of town, country and motorway driving meaning that two light settings are rarely enough. The 'high beam assistant' will automatically adjust the lights between dipped and full beam according to ambient light levels, taking into account weather conditions too, so that visibility is optimised whilst dazzle is minimised.
The A6 also has other innovative features such as maps from Google Earth, WiFi capability, and safety-conscious features like 'head-up' display and Audi's Active Lane Assist (which warns the driver when they change lanes or when other vehicles approach too close or too fast).
