Volkswagen CC - the car that's come of age

The new CC opened for ordering on 4th January 2012. Since its launch as Passat CC in 2008, Volkswagen have decided to remove Passat from its name because the CC now stands alone in its style and appeal to customers.
The subtly evolved exterior and enhanced equipment levels of the new Volkswagen CC were not lost on British motoring journalists, who recently journeyed to Nice to test drive the car with Volkswagen press and PR team.
‘The new CC got a great reception from the press’ explained Rory Lumsdon, Volkswagen UK’s Product Affairs Manager. ‘The consensus was that an already desirable and refined vehicle has become even more so, while sophisticated new options such as Lane Assist and Side Scan were singled out for praise.’
The new CC has had a subtle exterior makeover. At the front, the new radiator grille has strong horizontal lines that represent Volkswagen’s new design DNA, flanked by new bi-xenon headlights and topped with a reprofiled bonnet. The bumper has an extra air intake and silver-coloured ‘winglets’ that frame the fog lights.
Frameless doors are carried over from the previous model, but more sculpted sills, revised bumpers and the new bonnet create a subtly updated silhouette.
The rear bumper has also been completely redesigned, with new LED tail lights and a number plate. As before, the Volkswagen logo doubles as the handle for the boot, but can now contain an optional rear view camera.
The size of the vehicle is almost identical to its predecessor, but the proportions have changed slightly, with a longer boot ad a shorter bonnet.
