Two more awards for the Audi A1
Audi's A1 has won two more motoring gongs: one a fleet award, the other a consumer choice prize.
First, the A1 won 'Best Small Car' at the 2011 Fleet World Honours held this month. For these awards, Fleet World editors make up the judging pane. They base their decisions on each vehicle's reliabilty, market and residual value, as well as the cost of maintenance, and the number of fleet registrations. They use industry sources ALD Automotive, Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions, ING Car Lease, EurotaxGlass and SMMT.
Speaking on behalf of all the judges, editor Steve Moody described the A1 as "just so desirable", praising its combination of "chunky good looks, "strong performance on the used market" and Audi's "meticulous attention to detail and quality".
Second, the A1 won at the inaugural HonestJohn.co.uk awards, as the most searched for car in the 'Small Hatchback' category from April 2010/11. These awards are based solely on consumer interest on this popular website.
These are just the latest in a growing amount of recognition for the A1 that has included 'Car of the Year' and 'Supermini of the Year' from What Car? magazine, 'Best Small Hatchback' from Parkers New Cars, and 'Best Luxury Small Car' from CarBuyer.
