Vindis Volkswagen attend GTI International 2011

This year was the third consecutive year that the Vindis Group attended ‘GTI International’, a renowned Volkswagen enthusiast event. It took place on Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th June 2011, at Bruntingthrope Proving Ground, near Leicester. There was a brilliant turnout, as always and a wide range of different interests were displayed.

‘Volkswagen Driver’ magazine said “As well as all the other aftermarket attractions, the Vindis Volkswagen Group also put on a superb display of all the latest VW models, as well as a Mk 6 GTI from the VW Racing Cup series, and also had for sale a range of merchandise and OEM spare parts.”

The Vindis Group were pleased to be asked to fly the flag for Volkswagen again, in the central display area and were happy to see some familiar faces, who have been visiting the display for the past three years.

This year the Vindis Group were lucky enough to debut the GTI Edition 35, the only one in the UK and not yet released for sale. This was shipped over from Germany especially for this event to mark thirty five years of the Volkswagen Golf. Victoria Stubbs, Marketing and Operations Manager for the Vindis Group said “It was an honour and privilege to be part of the GTI edition 35’s introduction to the UK market. Every year we try and reward our loyal Volkswagen enthusiasts at GTI with a glimpse of what the Volkswagen Brand has to come, and we’re pleased that this year was no exception.”

The Vindis Group also supplied five Volkswagen support vehicles to the GTI onsite staff. These noticeable vehicles had been “wrapped” in the distinctive green artwork that promotes Volkswagen’s latest offering to its customer s, “Service Revolution” pricing. The vehicles were used to escort people on and off site throughout the weekend and proved to be the talk of the event.

The organisers of GTI International ensured they had catered for all interests, from classic vehicles, latest models and amazing modifications. With such beautiful weather they were able to host a number of different attractions, including the famous quarter-mile sprint and the ‘Show & Shine’ competition (amongst many others.)
