Audi » A3

Reviewers and drivers consistently describe the Audi A3 as a reliable 'all-rounder' car for frequent use and long journeys. Critics might say this is a more expensive version of the VW Golf, but fans will quickly respond, "Of course it is; you get what you pay for." Safety is good, with deadlocks, central locking and an alarm all standard, plus twin front, side and curtain airbags. It is spacious in the front, and for a three-door hatchback there is also good amount of legroom in the back, but it is worth noting that there is less headroom than taller adult passengers might want. However the 350 litre boot (1000 litres with the back seats folded), its practicality and durability, and an average of 44 mpg reported by owners (with up to 69 on motorways) all make this a car that will serve a young family well on many fronts.
