For many the best in the range is the diesel 2.0 litre TDI which offers a winning combination of 50mpg with 168Bhp, although the price you pay is a louder engine. The car scores well in the safety stakes; anti-skid and stability control and anti-lock brakes are standard throughout the range, as are six airbags. There is plenty of scope for driving wheel and seat adjustment, a huge amount of headroom and legroom in the front and back, and even without the rear seats split-folded the boot is well and truly spacious.
