People who drive this reliable and competent car are impressed by its smooth ride and comfortable handling (not that much of a surprise when you realise that it uses the same platform as the last generation VW Golf), and it came top of its class in the latest JD Power customer satisfaction survey. An alarm and immobiliser are standard across the range. A common feature in Skodas is the amount of space, and the Octavia is no exception; as well as plenty of room in the back it also has a 560 litre boot (giving 1,455 litres of space with the back seats down), making it one of the biggest small family cars. The 2.0 litre diesel will do 51.4mpg, although most reviewers find the petrol models quieter.
