The VW Sharan is a very spacious 7 seater MPV: even with all seats up there's still a decent amount of luggage space; with the rear two lowered the boot is huge. There are four engine choices, although either of the two 2.0 litre diesels are preferred by reviewers to the 1.4 and 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol models. This is a smooth, quiet ride with accurate steering that has decent CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, and scores the maximum 5 stars from Euro NCAP thanks to standard features like stability control, tyre pressure monitors, seven airbags, deadlocks and an alarm.
