Volkswagen » Touran

The Touran does well in the city and on the open road, with steering that is light and easy at low speeds yet firmer and more reassuring as the pace increases. Noise insulation is fair; fuel economy and emissions are also above-average and the interior is tough and functional. The seating and storage is very flexible indeed. The car will accommodate seven adults; not just the rear but also the middle of the three rows of seats can be folded flat (in fact the middle row can be removed completely), and the rear row can be adjusted to accommodate larger passengers at the expense of some storage space. As it's an MPV you'd expect a high score for safety and security and you'd be right, with head and side airbags for the front, 'curtain' airbags that run the length of the cabin's sides, and anti-lock brakes and automatic stability control as standard.
