Three truly was the magic number for Ducati as the legendary Italian manufacturer celebrated a remarkable day in MotoGP history.
On 7 June, Ducati achieved an extraordinary ‘Triple 100’ milestone at the Balaton Park Grand Prix. Not only did Marc Márquez claim the 100th Grand Prix victory of his illustrious career (his 74th MotoGP win), but the triumph also delivered the 100th MotoGP victory for the Ducati Lenovo Team. To complete the celebrations, teammate Francesco Bagnaia secured a hard-fought third-place finish.
The race itself was packed with drama from the very start. Márquez launched off the line strongly but surrendered the lead on lap two, setting up an intense chase. By lap six, he had closed the gap, and after a relentless pursuit, reclaimed the lead on lap fifteen before powering to a memorable victory.
Meanwhile, Bagnaia produced another composed and calculated performance. Maintaining a strong pace throughout the race, the Italian expertly worked his way through the field to secure his third consecutive Grand Prix podium finish.
After eight rounds of the season, Márquez leads the championship standings on 108 points, while Bagnaia is in seventh place with 99 points. The Ducati Lenovo Team sit second in the team standings on 207 points, with Ducati also holding second place in the constructors’ championship on 225 points.
The action now heads to Brno, where the Ducati Lenovo Team will look to continue their momentum when the next Grand Prix weekend gets underway on 19 June.
