Lighter, smoother, smarter: the 2025 Ducati Multistrada V2 is here
Gear up, folks – Ducati have just dropped the all-new 2025 Multistrada V2 in Valencia, and it’s primed to take your adventures to the next level. If you’re into power, precision and all-day comfort, this machine is calling your name.
Familiar name, new bike
Ducati are overhauling their middleweight range with an all-new engine platform in 2025, and the Multistrada V2 is our first peek at what’s to come.
While it adopts the same design language as its predecessor – including the tall windscreen and half-faring – don’t make the mistake of thinking this is merely a simple model upgrade. The new arrival is lighter, boasts a chassis, gets a new 890cc engine V-twin engine and is packed with new tech.
Let’s take a closer look at the Multistrada V2 and the V2 S…
Lightweight, but not for the faint-hearted
Ducati offers the Multistrada V2 in two versions: the standard model and the premium V2 S. This mid-size crossover has been designed for twin-cylinder enthusiasts who crave agility, comfort and versatility.
Tipping the scales with a weight that’s 18kg less than its forerunner, the V2 is the lightest in its class at just 199kg (dry), improving handling and low-speed manoeuvrability. It means sharper handling and a more engaging ride – whether you’re tearing up the twisties or devouring highway miles.
Add to that the five available Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro and Wet), which let you adapt the Multistrada V2 to any situation, and this could well be the ultimate adventure machine!
Fine-tuned engine, finessed suspension
The new Multistrada V2 is equipped with the new Ducati V2 engine. This liquid-cooled, 90° V-twin, 890cc engine comes with IVT variable intake valve timing and distribution with coil spring valve recall.
The result? 115hp with smooth, fuel-efficient performance. Ducati have fine-tuned the engine for better efficiency and smoother power delivery, making it an absolute dream for both new and seasoned riders. The larger flywheel improves the experience, especially in touring or traffic thanks to a smoother throttle opening response.
The powerplant is also partly responsible for the drop in weight, boasting a claimed weight of just 54.9kg!
Aerodynamics and other adjustments
The chassis features a lightweight monocoque frame and a redesigned subframe, with Ducati swapping the trellis for more compact and aerodynamic front frame design.
But the sleeker and lighter body isn’t just what’s got people talking...
There’s a striking redesigned beak, compact LED headlights and an adjustable windscreen for improved wind protection. Fully adjustable suspension and Brembo brakes provide top-tier control – the latter featuring a double 320mm front disc and a single 265 mm disc, with benchmark performance in every situation.
Both versions of the Multistrada V2 are equipped with a 19-inch front wheel combined with a 17-inch rear wheel, with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres to offer versatility and riding feel.
Top-notch tech
The class-leading weight understandably gets top billing for 2025 Ducati Multistrada V2 announcements, but the headline technology shouldn’t be overlooked.
The new Multistrada V2 is one of the most technologically advanced bikes in the middleweight segment. It boasts a complete electronics package, manageable via redesigned handlebar controls and the new 5-inch TFT colour dashboard, with a completely revamped multilingual interface based on three different Infomodes: Road, Road Pro and Rally.
These Infomodes ensure the information displayed offers the rider the best riding experience in every situation; Road Pro, for example, provides the percentage of power and torque used in real time.
And there’s even more tech to enjoy on the V2 S. Talking of which…
Top-spec touring
The premium V2 S variant steps it up with electronically adjustable suspension, full LED lighting and a quick shifter for seamless gear changes. At 202kg, it’s still shifting the pounds, albeit less so than the core V2. You can also enjoy a stylish new colour option – Storm Green.
But what caught our attention was the Ducati Skyhook Suspension with suspension mode management and Minimum Preload function, the electronically controlled Marzocchi fork with 45mm tubes with 170mm travel and electronically controlled Marzocchi shock absorber with 170mm travel.
Built for the long haul
It may be a complete overhaul, but the V2 Multistrada remains true to the Ducati spirit of adventure, functional and comfortable design.
The brand knows a thing or two about rider comfort, and the Multistrada V2 proves it. The redesigned ergonomics offer a lower, more accessible seat height without sacrificing that commanding upright stance. Plus, with the Minimum Preload function, even shorter riders will find it easier to get both feet on the ground.
The revised ergonomics offer greater rider comfort, as well as optimised riding position for effortless cornering, while the lighter chassis keeps the bike agile without compromising stability.

With upgrades from top to toe, the 2025 Ducati Multistrada V2 is much more than a simple refresh. So, whether you’re looking for a weekend warrior or a full-blown touring beast, this bike is ready to go the distance.
