Need an extra incentive to switch? In July 2025, the Government announced an Electric Car Grant scheme offering funding for UK buyers of certain battery electric vehicles which meet criteria relating to pricing and environmental impact (among others).
A number of Volkswagen ID.3 models have met the ‘Band 2’ criteria, allowing you to enjoy a £1,500 saving on an ID.3.**

^Electric vehicle batteries suffer natural wear and tear. Because of this, Volkswagen provide customers with a warranty for up to 8 years or 100,000 miles from point of first registration (whichever comes first), to ensure your battery retains 70% of its original capacity. This warranty is available from new and can be passed on to future owners.
†All vehicles are tested according to WLTP technical procedures. Figures shown are for comparability purposes; only compare fuel consumption, CO2 and equivalent electric range figures with other vehicles tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real-life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors, including the accessories fitted (post-registration), variations in weather, driving styles, speed, vehicle age, vehicle load (and, for battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles, the starting charge of the battery and battery age). Figures for plug-in hybrid vehicles were obtained using a combination of battery power and fuel. Plug-in hybrid vehicles require mains electricity for charging. Figures for battery electric vehicles were obtained after the battery had been fully charged. Battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. Zero emissions while driving. **The Electric Car Grant is a UK Government grant to promote the purchase of certain new electric vehicles. The grant is not exclusive to Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited. Selected Volkswagen ID.3 models are eligible for this Grant within Band 2, meaning eligible customers purchasing a qualifying vehicle will receive £1,500 off the purchase price. The grant is available when purchasing selected Volkswagen ID.3 models. The £1,500 will be automatically deducted from the purchase price for your vehicle on the retail invoice. Any discount or offer will be applied before application of the grant. Your authorised Volkswagen retailer will submit the details of your order in order to claim the grant funding. The grant is subject to full T&Cs and eligibility requirements and may be replaced, withdrawn or amended by the UK Government at any time.
