The new A5 is the epitome of Audi progress – read on to find out everything you need to know!
The new name for sporty elegance
The A5 range bolsters Audi’s strong position in the premium mid-size segment. Arriving three decades after the first Audi A4, the latest generation has been renamed A5, exuding power and elegance with its bold proportions, long wheelbase and low, sporty stance.
The Saloon is one of the most practical vehicles in its class, offering ample room for passengers. Avant models, meanwhile, feature extra room in the rear and boot. The extensive equipment list for entry-level Sport versions establishes impressive foundations, with plenty of tech to savour.
Refined design
With a longer, wider stance, the A5 exudes confidence, setting a new standard for modern elegance. “The new A5 shines with its sporty design, new interior and modern electronic architecture. It also marks the launch of our new generation of efficient combustion engines,” said Gernot Döllner, CEO of Audi.
The A5 Saloon combines sporty elegance with aerodynamic aesthetics, featuring sharp side lines, flush door handles and Audi’s latest design language. The sleek design flows into a coupé-like rear, ending with a striking spoiler lip. Up front, the wide, flat single-frame grille with a honeycomb pattern and sharp headlights creates a focused, dynamic look. Inspired by the iconic Ur Quattro, muscular wheel arches enhance its athletic profile. At the rear, a three-dimensional light strip and modern bumper design, complete with dark diffuser and rectangular exhaust tips, deliver a blend of sporty flair and advanced technology for a commanding presence on the road.
Revolutionised interior
Step inside to experience a driver-focused cabin, where premium materials and a spacious layout create an inviting, tech-savvy environment. With its material-driven design, the Audi A5 meets the requirement for a generous sense of space with a high level of comfort.
On the tech front, the digital stage establishes itself in clear view of the driver and front passenger. The slim, free-standing Audi MMI panoramic display has a curved design and uses OLED technology. It consists of the Audi virtual cockpit with a 11.9-inch visible screen diagonal and the 14.5-inch MMI touch display.
Future-forward powertrains
The efficient engines in the Audi A5 family cover a wide range: from the conventionally powered entry-level model to the comfortable long-distance runner and the dynamic sports car. The packages of engines, transmissions, the degree of electrification and type of drivetrain are geared towards the expectations of our customers. So, whether you’re after smooth city driving or spirited highway performance, these engines combine power and economy like never before.
The A5 introduces Audi’s MHEV plus hybrid system, pairing the 2.0 TDI engines with electric enhancements for lower emissions and greater efficiency. The system enables electric boosts, agile reaction time, regenerative braking, and even limited electric-only manoeuvres – delivering performance with efficiency.
The new MHEV plus system enables significant advantages in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption in the Audi A5 model series compared to an MHEV system. These total up to 10g/km CO2 in the 2.0 TDI (204PS, front-wheel drive/quattro) and up to 17g/km CO2 in the V6 3.0 TFSI (367PS, quattro) in the WLTP driving cycle.*

*The advantages described regarding CO2 emissions and fuel consumption include the influence of the additional weight of the MHEV plus system compared to the MHEV system. Further CO2-effective effects at vehicle level, which may result from deviations in the drivetrain, weight or driving resistance of the vehicle under consideration with the MHEV plus system compared to a reference vehicle with MHEV technology (e.g. further development of the combustion engine or basic transmission, changes in rolling resistance, aerodynamics or weight), are not taken into account.
